On October 29th our classroom attended Halloween day
which was organized by the class 1.DN and by a teacher Gabriela Kůdelová. Whole
team put ton of work in it. Classroom was very well decorated and dark. There
were bats, pumpkins and other traditional symbols all over the place. Students
prepared presentation about this holiday. Our class learned a lot of
information about history, tradition and origin of Halloween. For example did
you know that Halloween culture can be traced back to the Druids, a Celtic
culture in Ireland, Britain and Northern Europe?
Halloween is one of the oldest holidays still celebrated today. It's one of the
most popular holidays. It is mostly celebrated in Great
Britain and United States of America. Sadly
it’s not well known in the Czech
Republic. After the presentation,
it was over students prepared some games and challenges for us. The challenges
were difficult and some of them had many obstacles and fears we had to face. We
had to find a candy in glasses only by a touch. Later we found out what was in
the glasses and we were pretty upset about the worms. Luckily we didn’t see
them. The glasses were hidden in fabric. Or we had to pull apples from water
only by our mouth. Some challenges included livers, worms, flour and so on.
Scary, right? Overall impression was amazing. We enjoyed it and we were amazed
by a costumes organizers had. Some parts were scary but that’s what Halloween
is about. We had lovely times and all of us are looking forward what next
Halloween will bring.
